The Morrigan is the “Chooser of the Slain” and the Goddess of War who helps Atticus on his many adventures. What form that “help” takes is left up to the whims of the Morrigan. The Morrígan often appears as a crow. Atticus describes the goddess:

“The Morrigan is a spooky creature by default, but she can turn up the spookiness to eleven whenever she wishes. Her eyes glow red and minor harmonics creep into her voice, vibrating on a frequency guaranteed to produce shuddering fits, liquid bowels, and tiny screams of fear. At least that's what her voice o' doom does to normal people. Gods are able to take it a little better. Still, they flinch.”

Details:  The Morrígan Crow pendant is solid sterling silver finished with a dark ruthenium finish*. The pendant measures 15.7 mm tall, 47.8 mm wide, and 6.3 mm at the thickest point. The crow's eye is set with a 2mm imitation garnet. The pendant weighs approximately 5.9 grams. The pendant is stamped with our makers mark, copyright symbol, and the metal content, STER (sterling).

*Note about Ruthenium plating: Due to equipment limitations at our shop, the plating is quite thin. If the jewelry is worn daily, the plating will probably start to wear off within a week's time, especially with rings. We do offer a free one-time replating, and then offer replating services for $15 after the first time, which covers labor and the price of the return shipping to you. Atticus's lawyer, Leif Helgarson, is a charming, old fashioned, and extremely powerful Vampire from the Iron Druid Chronicles series. Before becoming a vampire, Leif was a Viking colonist in Iceland during the 10th century. Like most Vikings, he worshiped Thor, the Norse Thunder God, and wore a Thor's Hammer pendant to show his dedication to the God. Mjolnir, Thor's Hammer, is commonly thought to mean "That which smashes". Wearing Thor's Hammer is an expression of strength and determination. Thor punished Leif by killing his family when Leif unknowingly confesses his desire to become a vampire to the God in disguise as a stranger in a tavern. Details: The Locket is solid bronze and is made up of six Celtic triskele knots woven from newly budding branches. The triskele is a symbol of the foundation of the Celtic world - earth, sea, and sky. The locket opens so that the Elemental sphere can be held or changed for another. The Elemental Sphere pendant measures 35.5 mm top to bottom and 26.5 mm wide in diameter. It weighs 13.4 grams.

The Iron Amulet and Binding Charms took Atticus 750 years to craft, bind and complete. The necklace is built around a central iron amulet forged from a cold iron meteorite. With the help of an Iron Elemental, Atticus bound the iron amulet to his aura providing him with protection from magical attacks. Iron is the antithesis of magic and it gives him a unique protective field against magic users and the Fae. Due to its alien origin, cold iron has no bond with the earth and is able to block or destroy magic better than iron found on earth would. Brought to you from the pages of Kevin Hearne's series, The Iron Druid Chronicles.

Details: The iron amulet is cast in actual iron and measures 32 mm in diameter and weighs 11 grams. The charms measure approximately 13 mm by 13 mm. The charms weigh 1.1 grams to 2.1 grams in sterling silver, 1.2 grams to 1.7 grams in pewter. The iron amulet and binding charms are hung on a 20" long stainless steel rolo chain. The chain measures 4 mm thick.

Charms Metal Options: Sterling Silver or Pewter.

Each of the ten charms on the necklace hold one of Atticus's most frequently used bindings or spells. While wearing the necklace, he is able to quickly cast those bindings. 

• The Bear charm stores magical energy that Atticus can tap when he can not connect to the earth.
• The Stag, Wolfhound, Owl and Otter charms hold the bindings for shape-shifting to the forms of those animals. The Otter charm also allows Atticus to breathe underwater and works in conjunction with the iron amulet to protect him from selkies, sirens and the like.
• The Camouflage charm, a hammered silhouette, blends Atticus into his environment, but doesn't make him completely invisible.
• The Night Vision charm, a Celtic sun, increases the photo receptivity of Atticus's eyes allowing him to see in the dark.
• The Magical Sight or "faerie specks" charm, the third eye, allows him to see in the magical and supernatural spectrum, to see through Fae glamours and detect magic juju.
• The Healing charm, a Celtic healing well, blocks pain and accelerates healing.
• The Soul Catcher charm, a nine-pointed star, binds his soul to his body in the event of a fatal injury allowing his body to heal until he is able to resuscitate.

Note: Prolonged exposure to water or moisture will cause iron to rust. Rust can be removed from your iron medallion by rubbing it with cloth dipped in any form of vegetable oil.

The teardrop iron amulet is worn by Granuaile and the Morrigan in Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles series. Granuaile's Iron Necklace is one of four looped pendants forged by Goibhniu in Tír na nÓg from a cold iron meteorite. The amulet, which is hung on a gold chain, was given to Granuaile by Atticus. The iron amulet provides protection from Fae magic, infernal hexes, several forms of old craft from Europe and Kabbalistic spells. Eventually, with the help of an iron elemental, the cold iron amulet will be bound to Granuaile's aura, further protecting her from most forms of magic and making her an Iron Druid like Atticus.

Details: The iron amulet is solid iron and measures 47.7 mm long, 12.5 mm wide and 12.5 mm thick. The bail measures 4.3 mm wide. Granuaile's amulet weighs 21 grams.
